Why do face skin feel tight after wash?

I used a particular facial cleanser for about 3 months, and sometimes after washing, my face feels tight? What does this mean? Is my pores tightening up? Or is my skin drying? Is it that the cleanser i'm using is too strong?

What are your advices? Thanks

Why do face skin feel tight after wash?
Your cleanser is too strong, I suppose. Your skin is tight because it has tightened up, in other words, it has been stripped off the skin's natural oils and lost its elasticity, which is bad. So throw away your cleanser and get a more gentle one (Himalaya Herbals is the best one so far.) Your pores are not really tightening up unless you used extremely cold water. But yes, use a gentle cleanser and use warm water. Avoid exfoliating if you have dry skin or limit it to once a week. Furthermore use a moisturizer every night (I avoid it during day, cause moisturizer well, sorts of leaves too much of shine, gloss on your skin, which might give it an illusion of oily skin)
Reply:yeah its means the cleanser sucked up all the oils
Reply:Your cleanser is drying up your skin. thats ok as long as your skin doesnt gets irritated and make sure you put on a moisturizer after washing.
Reply:The cleanser is sucking up all your face oil, causing it to have a tight feeling to it. The cleanser may be just a bit too strong, so you should experiment around with other cleansers, and see if you get the same feeling. If you do, I would talk to a doctor that specilizes in facial irritation. I hope I helped! And good luck at finding the correct answer!
Reply:hmm u need a moisturizer to use on your skin after to use this cleanser and in some cases it may be too strong for your skin so find out your skin type and try products for that skin type I find all mine at Walmart for a good Value
Reply:Nope, continue to use it. My face feels the same way. I'm not sure what it is. It could be because your pores are finally breathing, or it could be that it's drying...who knows??
Reply:side effects of dry skin, which i have. the cleanser i use does that too! but.. if you know you don't usually have dry skin, then it might be a really strong cleanser. but i mean its not that bad. i've gotten use to it!
Reply:The oil from your skin is washed,/dissolved by the soap/cleanser and hence it becomes less flexible and hence feels tight. Probably the cleanser is too harsh for your skin. Can you use a mild cleanser please or reduce the number of times you wash your face or alternatively reduce the time you keep the cleanser on your face. As reducing the contact time will only clean the superficial oil or dirt and the possibility of drying of your skin will reduce
Reply:You're using the wrong cleanser. Do you know your skin type? Dry, oily or combination? That determines your cleanser. Try going to a Clinique counter in your local mall. They will help you determine your skin type and will use the product on your skin. This way, you will know exactly what you need before investing your money in a product which doesn't work. Don't forget, you must cleanse, tone and moisturize for proper skin care!
Reply:that's why we use moisturizer
Reply:Like most have said you are probably too dry for that cleanser. I also think that your skin is dehydrated drink more water, if you skin gets too dehydrated you will age much faster than normal. You also need to use a toner it will really get rid of that tight feeling. I'm not trying to be mean, just honest your skin is basically unhealthy get a facial.
Reply:yeah ur skin is dry because ur cleanser (or toner or both) sucked up all ur natural oils on ur face.

use an oil-free moisturizer!! :]
