Well That depends on what kind of running you're doing.

If you're doing competitive running, such as track, they should be tight. The tightness helps keep your foot in a stable position, preventing twisting or spraining an ankle

But if you're just running on a treadmill or running to get into shape, then no, you really don't need super tight shoes. Running on a level surface with no real need for speed doesn't really require the tightest shoes.
Reply:ok so ur feet are supposed to be feeling tight because they are for many reasons like helping u to not twist ur ankle and so on and idk about ur feet moving together
Reply:Yes they should be tight but not so tight that your foot is swelled up afterwards. But not so loose that they fall off when you run LOL
Reply:Running shoes are supposed to be fitted in the heel and mid foot and roomy in the toe box. They should not be tight. This could cause injuries and blisters.

I'd recommend going to a running specialty store and getting fitted if you're actually going to be running in the shoes. If you're just hanging out in them, then it's not as big of a deal.
Reply:runningspikes should be skin tight. they should fit like a sock...they're very light and you want them tight because you'll be running so fast. if you're talking about just normal tennis shoes, then no...I wouldn't say skin tight, but you obviously want them to fit well.
