Unless you are a stylist, I would not attempt it, bald fades are one of the most difficult haircuts to get perfect, and I know a lot of other stylist who don't even do them. I only do them because I had a very traditional barber teach them to me.
How do you give a skin tight fade haircut?
start by cutting the top to the desired length. Then shave the sides to just under where you want the fade to start. hold a fine tooth comb vertically against the side of the head, in the hair. buzz the hair that hangs through the comb. go all the way around the head like this. this should get you pretty close. Finally, do detail with clippers or scissors.
