Reply:i play football and the reason is to keep ur pads pressed against where they need to protect and also u can tackle someone just by grabbing on to a piece of clothing so u dont want baggy pants if that anyone can just bring u down with
Reply:I would hazard to say when they are being tackled the material that the pants are made from make it more difficult to get a decent grip on them. If one wore loose pants it would be easier to get ahold of and easier to rip.
